Smooth Freq
Average the frequency envelopes to gain a cleaner signal. But the result becomes more monoton, robotic.
Spectrum
This module shows you the spectrum represented by offset - sliders of the max. volume of each harmonic. You can alter the
relation between them easily by clicking and moving over the sliders. The borderfrequencys and offsetvalue is shown in the windowtitlebar.
When you did something wrong, you can regain the current spectrum by pressing the recalculation button.
By setting a value to zero the harmonic is complete set to zero and after pressing OK it can't be recoverd by this editor.
But it still remains available for the harmonic editor.
Edit Harmonic
Here you can edit each harmonic. The black envelope is the amplitude, the blue one is the frequency part. Both got little handles with which you can edit the breakpoints of the envelope. To toggle between Amplitude/Frequency edit mode use either
the dedicated radiobutton on the right side.
When you set the LogicSnap in the Settings menu you can't move a breakpoint beyond another one. The view can be altered with the sliders, the 1:1 button gives back the complete view.
To switch to the next harmonic set of envelopes click Next button, to access previos set press Prev.
Export to a discreete orchester file
This is the newest feature of hYdra. You can export the additivie set of the control envelopes to a cSound orchesterfile where they are realised by the linseg opcode, controlling an oscillator for each partial.
Such a partial consists of an EG for frequency and one for the amplitude.
Tracking the data of an hetrodyne file produces a huge amount of envelopes and oscillators which could easily push cSound to it limits,
memory.allocation errors could occur. But it works for small excerpts with few harmonics, later versions of hYdra will provide more control over this exportfeature.
